MEGALOPOLIS
Description
1. Houses a maximum of 10,000 population regardless of species or research levels
2. Produces credits each game-turn. Amount of credits produced is affected by economics research level.
3. Population not employed in primary industry (factories, mines, labs) engage in 'tertiary industries' in the megalopolis and generate additional credits.
Strategies
1. Build a minimum of 1 mega for every two primary industrial facility. This maximises the 'employment' of your population in primary industries.
2. You may build additional mega so that you have 'surplus' population to boost your empire-wide population and credit income.
3. In early game, build some planets with all megapoli and no industrial buildings. Such planets get a bonus to credit production, and can generate enormous amounts of credits each turn, as well as contributing significantly to empire-wide population and allowing you to colonise faster.
Rules
1. Destroying megas on a 'full planet' will cause your planetary population to rapidly die out until the population level equals the megapoli-capacity.
2. Population growth is proportional to the available capacity in the existing megapoli. The greater the available capacity, the faster your population grows. The less the available capacity, the slower your population grows.
